Temple Findings

While univocally all historians mentioned that Kharavela was a jaina king, not much of evidence is available to support this claim. May be because of this pre-assumption, nothing about a large number of temples on Khandagiri hill is mentioned anywhere.

But the inscription of Hathi gumpha on Udaya giri clearly indicates that Maharaja Kharavela was the chief patron of all temples. (Sava-deva-ayatana- samkhara-karako). And he was a tolerant King who had respect for all other faiths (Sava-pasanda-pujaka).

Very intrestingly we discover a large number of AMLAKAs and DADHI NEUTI s from under wild bushes around Khandagiri (Kumari Parbata) hills. These are traditional temple components built as per a specific treatise.

WHY, HOW, WHEN & by WHOM are those TEMPLE Tops here ..... ???
